Oscar is an orange 0-4-0 narrow gauge tender engine with his name and the number "40" on his sides. He also has a yellow nose, wheels, and pistons.

Oscar shares his birthday with late American singer, songwriter and actor Glenn Frey, best known as a founding member of the rock band The Eagles.
He loves rock music, and some of his favorite bands include The Rolling Stones, The Ramones, The Romantics, and The Electric Light Orchestra, also known as "ELO".
Because of this, he owns two guitars, one electric and one acoustic, which are a Fender Super-Sonic and a Takamine G30. He also owns an electric bass, which is a Fender Jazz Bass.
Like all the engines on the Piperville Railroad, he has a set of coaches in his colors that he uses for passenger excursions,
